KFS Robotics team advance to finals

The Kenston Forest School Robotics team, led by Mr. Jason Buchanan competed in the RVA VEX IQ Ringmaster Tournament at Holman Middle School Saturday. This blended VEX IQ tournament was open to both Elementary and Middle School teams and qualified teams for the State Championship. There were 25 robots in the competition and Kenston Forest School (KFS) qualified in ninth and 16th place with their two robots to advance to the finals. The KFS Robotics team earned second place with a score of 160 points in the finals. The Robotics team was started at KFS last year with the guidance and leadership of Buchanan who joined KFS as Director of Technology last year and supportive parents, administration, faculty and Board members. Robotics is part of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) curriculum offered at KFS.
