A broken fire hydrant has caused Lunenburg Middle School and Central High School to close at 11 a.m., according to Lunenburg County Public Schools (LCPS) officials.

LCPS Superintendent Charles Berkley said in an email the hydrant is set to be shut down at 11 a.m. for repairs, which is estimated to take several hours.

The closure should not affect The Annual Spring Semi-Formal dance at Lunenburg Middle School, which is set to continue as scheduled from 6-8 p.m.
