VDOT paving in Kenbridge to begin Aug. 1

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will have contractors paving in and around the town of Kenbridge beginning Aug. 1, according to a recent press release.

VDOT will be paving Rt. 40 from the intersection of North Circle Boulevard. through town and ending between ABC Recycling and Tastee Freeze. They will also be paving Route 137 (5th Avenue) beginning at Lignetics and proceeding through the stoplight to end behind Benchmark Bank at the intersection with Commerce Street.

Milling and paving operations will take place Monday-Saturday between the hours of 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The work will take approximately two weeks to complete, stated the release.

Citizens who normally park on these sections will need to find alternate parking.

The contractor will be placing “No Parking” signs as well as distributing fliers to residences and businesses.

“The final product will be a great asset to the community and help ‘show off’ a great town,” the release stated.
