9TH ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. of Pastor Treavis L.C. Warren and First Lady Letitial Warren at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Norwood Carson, pastor of Friendship Baptist, Hopewell. Come out and worship with us.
DECEMBER 9-18
LIGHTS AT THE LAKE, 5-7 p.m., at Bear Creek Lake State Park, 22 Bear Creek Lake Road., Cumberland, on two consecutive weekends. On Dec. 9 10, and 11, and again on Dec. 16, 17 and 18. Visitors to the park will drive their car through the park’s campground and beach area to experience a wonderland of lights and popular seasonal figures. Free entry per vehicle with a donation of a new toy to the Cumberland Christmas Mother. On Dec. 11, Santa Claus will make a special appearance during a free pancake supper. A CHRISTMAS MUSICAL, 4 p.m. presented by The First Baptist Senior Choir under the direction of Bemeche Hicks, Minister of Music. Light refreshments will be served. The church is located at 821 Lunenburg Ave., Victoria.
DECEMBER 11
MOVIE NIGHT, 5 p.m. at Victoria Church of the Nazarene. Movie will be “Miracle on 34th Street.” All are welcome. Bring a snack and enjoy the movie and fellowship.

THE SALVATION ARMY, Kenbridge unit, will be delivering food boxes early that morning. Any individual, business or organization that would like to make monetary contributions or donate canned goods or non-perishables for this year’s food boxes, please drop off your donations at the Kenbridge Town Police Department main office inside the Kenbridge Community Center during normal business hours. All donations given will stay in the immediate area and will go to serve those in need in Lunenburg County.

DECEMBER 18 AND 21
CLASSIC CHRISTMAS CAROLS AND NARRATION, in the dynamic cantata presentation “A Celebration of Carols” by Joseph Martin. The cantata will be a collaborative venture between the chancel choirs of both South Hill United Methodist Church and Clarksville Baptist Church. The presentations will be Sunday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. at the South Hill United Methodist Church and again on Wed., Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Clarksville Baptist Church. The choir will be under the direction of Dr. Brian Siegle and accompanied by Jimmie K. Crowder, Jr., organist and Sidney Long, pianist. The Reverend Sandy Libhart will be the narrator for this poignant celebration of the Advent season.
JANUARY 15
COAT DRIVE, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mt. Ellis Baptist Church in Keysville. The drive is sponsored by The Kappa Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. The community is requested to donate new and used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and other winter items for children and adults. The drive will run from now until January 15.
