Website to come

The time has come for the KV Dispatch to move into the next century and enter the world of online media.
Come Oct. 1, the Dispatch will have its very own website. Not just any old website with just contact information, but an interactive website with stories and news that comes to you faster than a once-a-week newspaper.
This is a new thing for our area, and it can seem scary because it is not what the area is used to. But, I think this is a fresh change that will help the folks of Lunenburg County in more than one way.
With the website, you won’t have to wait for local news to be brought to you every Wednesday with our paper. If a big event happens before the next issue comes out, you will be able to read about it online.
Just think how great it will be to be caught up on your Lunenburg football games and news happening all over the county the same day it happens.
The website will also be a place to go to see pictures of events and look to see if you were caught in a photo as well. This is an easy way to show people what your event was like, even though they couldn’t make the actual event.
There will also be tabs featured on the website that can direct you straight to a topic of your interest.
Want to read an obituary of a passed loved one or send a link to a story that was written about a person you know? Those are things you will be able to access and do with our new website.
Have a last-minute event that didn’t make the paper? You will now be able to send it to us and we will get the word out for you.
Now for the question we always have to ask: What’s the catch?
No catch.
The website will be free to those interested in viewing it. There will be a Google survey question or two to answer before reading a story, but you won’t have to subscribe to view our online stories.
We hope that you will take a look at the website come Oct. 1 and that you enjoy having news provided to you earlier.
